I’ve had my Miata for two years now, and couldn’t be more impressed. It’s too funny, I also had been driving a Jeep Wrangler too, ‘96 I think. It was high and bumpy and dangerous and wild and I loved it. One bad mechanic destroyed it. I got the Miata to drive from the guy who sold me the jeep as a temporary loaner, then bought it. I hardly knew what to do with it! Everything worked, and beautifully. It has Bose speakers, cd and cassette, am fm heater air conditioner. I never lose a drop of oil or water, and I can finally pass cars on the highway! Corners like a dream. I still haven’t figured all the gizmos. The owner’s manual and I sit and study each other from time to time and I recommend it for it’s info and surprises. It’s the first time in my life I’ve had a car I can depend on and my heart’s not in my throat when I get behind the wheel. The only fault I can find, after my all steel ‘74 GMC Suburban then the jeep, is that if somebody looks crosseyed at it it gets a dent. This is a whole new thing with a really beautiful, kind of fragile machine. I think the only reason anyone ever gets rid of them is getting tired of no room. You can’t do yard sales and junk yards or big time grocery shopping with them, though the trunk is big. The only cost so far has been replacing a headlight bulb and oil changes. I get about 34 mpg and can get up to 80 without noticing I’m there. It is one peach of an automobile. I never wanted to buy anything but American makes but who knows where anything’s made now so I surrendered. I thought when I was first in it, shit this is a little old lady car, you can’t go off road, you can’t even drive over a boulder! But I’m sure not missing the terror.
Copper red mica sounds divine. That’s another plus, you can wash these things in about ten minutes instead of two hours. And it’s my first that still has the original factory paint! Congrats to you and Anne.
