Matthews Mansion is part of the Matthews Stone Company Historic District. It was built in Second Empire style in 1868 using local materials, for the owner of the Matthews limestone quarry operations.
Matthew’s Mansion is said to be haunted. People have reported hearing disembodied voices and footsteps. There has also been numerous sightings of strange lights and a heavy mist. You can hear voices in the halls, there have also been reports of items being thrown, and there are odd smells and supposedly there are people in between the walls.
Matthews mansion which is an historic house is located near Bybee Stone Company which supplied the cut stone to restore the Pentagon after 911.

Located in Ellettsville, Indiana.

  • I think they have gaive tours in the past, but right now a family lives in the house. Spooky! I have a cousin that lives in the area and she will let me know the next time a tour is available.
