Happy New RB Year to you all!!!

Hello and happy New Year to all my RB friends, I really missed you all over the last few weeks while I have been away. Whilst I technically on holidays, I was also helping out a very dear friend of ine who was having a baby , due on the 28th December 08. She was admitted to hospital on Christmas Eve, spent Christmas day in hospital, only to be sent home after christmas was all over. She then went back in on New Years Eve and delivered a healthy and very beautiful baby boy at 3.40pm on New Years Eve. She and her husband now very proudly have three boys.
I have not had internet access while I was away so no RB, I had to do it cold turkey, but after being on the RB drought wagon for three weeks I am happy to say I am back now. I have just finished checking every one of my 189 BM’s and hope to get back to looking at all the wonderful work my very talented RB friends have been submitting in my absence. I am also working in a casual position full time for the next two weeks so it may take me a little time to get back through it all. Anyway I love you all and am looking forward to a very interesting 2009. I have three of my images going into the Lyndon Gallery Melbourn’s “Postcards exhibition next week so it is an exciting way to start the New Year, my fondest love to you all, cheers my friends- Valerie xxx

My new Years resolution was to organise my photo files, so it will be another busy year, have a wonderful RB year my friend, cheers- Valerie

Oooh, Valerie, I’m not the best one to ask advice on getting a new camera! I don’t have a DSLR at all! One thing I have noticed with lenses though – some of the package deals on offer (Canon particularly) offer the body and two lenses, but the ranges of the lenses don’t overlap. As a mattter of fact, some have quite a large and awkward gap between the ranges of the two lenses offered. I’d suggest you really think about what aspect of your photography your current cameras aren’t handling to your satisfaction, and then researching one specifically for that purpose.

Thanks Jan I will do that, I am looking for good night shots, lights reflecting on water, they seem to become a long jagged series of coloured lines, I also want a better macro lens than what I am using, but I will definitely research a bit more, thanks for your advice, cheers- VAlerie xx
