This post is dedicated to my mother, Hadassa, who is celebrating her birthday today (65).
I inherited my LOVE, for colours and my LOVE, for textile from my mother Hadassa.
I sometimes wonder, if it is genetic, or the a studied matter.
I think both, and even more, circumstances of LIFE.
It is a fact, { that brought to my knowledge only few years ago } that my mother’s grand grandparents were embroiders of the king and queen in Poland.
During the 70’s I was exposed to many VERY FINE, fabrics, that came from Paris, and was given as presents, to my grandparents and actually for my mom.
Those fabrics, usually were made of Silk, was brought by close friends of my grandparents, who came to live at my grandparents apartment, for a month, each year, in a 2 rooms apartment :-) – their vacation.
{ they Owned a fashion business }
My mother , Hadassa used to sew many of my cloths , during my childhood, and later also… even in my 20’s. I very much enjoyed to wear those cloths, she made for me, that were truly UNIQUE. Many people also were compliments her work.
One thing, I didn’t like though… each garment she used to sew me, she made endless measurementS, in order to make the garment fits perfectly :-)
One problem you sEe, was those sewing pins, that she used to pierce me with, by mistake of course.. :-)……………
