The Dark Side of Fear
I’m sure you are familiar with doctor’s sticks ..You know , those they use to check your inside throat with. There are kids that afraid of doctor’s sticks…I was such a kid…and believe it or not…I still afraid of those sticks. Almost a mission impossible to check my throat, at least with this kind of stick. As a kid, my children doctor , Dr. Vilsmerdorpher (not sure I write her name correct : – ) many years ago, simply checked my throat without that stick. Most of the doctors I met after her , were patiently with me. The last time I visited my doctor…The minute I saw he come closer to my mouth with an UNFAMILIAR tool : – )... connected to a some kind of thread : – )) , I asked him what is it..wait .. : – )...He said to me, it’s only a thermometer , to check your fever : – ) ...Well : – ).. that’s OK !! : – )). . And Roni , my doctor is truly OK, Although I prefer not to visit him. Basic photo ,the bottom one taken , Jan,2,08. The purpose of these doctor’s sticks will be posted soon. This piece is BRILLIANT, Nira!!! I just love everything about it! I can also relate to your fear of “the stick”! Working with my husband in his Pediatric office, it was the thing the children feared the most!! It was almost impossible for me to get a swab of the throat!!!
