Such a beautiful image! and time medley:)
Glad you like it!
o my kat. This is un-holy good!
Quite a work! Was thinking that without the right side, the perspective of the wheels and St. Catherine would be macabre and surreal alone…if one had ever been terrified by these “stories” as a child, anyway. ;)
Who wouldn’t be afraid of a virgin who could destroy a torture device?…wheely scary!Great thought to lose the right side…sometimes I junk up my work.lol
We may scoff and be cynical but the impact of religion on art, well, those dudes wouldn’t have had jobs otherwise. Remember dragging a friend through the galleries of Florence and saying, “yes, yes, St. Sebastian got it with arrows.”
gorgeous work dear Susan… :)
So true mmargot…that’s the lasting image of St.Sebastian, when in truth,he was rescued from the arrows and subsequently clubbed to death.Art has a huge impact on religion and vice versa
