Hope is 18
And through her 18 years
She feels that she’s invisible
Maybe she is
She always departs off into her own world
So maybe she isn’t seen in this world
For she always finds refuge and connection in her own realms
But sometimes she feels as if to be a ghost here amongst the living
So she cuts herself to make sure that blood runs and circulates
The lacerations are like declarations
That declare that she is alive
And that the pulse she feels
Isn’t just her imagination running wild in her inner tunnels
….her veins
….her veins are like sewer drains
Full of shit from assholes
And she suffocates
As her mind is forced to give head to toilet-bowls
Forced into “shit” that is not of her own making
She wears slit wrists as if they were bracelets
And dresses in all black to shadow her feelings
She’s misunderstood by the world and overlooked
She keeps to herself as if communicating was bad for her health
She bleeds, constantly, internally
From the onslaught decreed upon her verbally
Cries so much inside that she drowns inside
So she drains the pain
….the shit
Allows it to protrude through slits
That spits
and vomits
Pours heavy
Drop after drop
That descend from within
Bleeding from her soul
Teardrops pregnant with pain, self-pity and confusion
She lets her wrists cry till they dry
And heal to be a new set of bracelets
No matter how many bracelets she continue to attain
She can only escape the pain
If she decides to find “Hope”

Hope must be found….

I wrote this after talking to a few females that would cut themselves to attain….ESCAPE

Excelling writing and statement on self harm. Hope can find hope without a doubt. You commented my writing Maggots in the Mirror. It’s the same subject. I understand Hope well.

Thank you for this and your other writings. You are not only talented, but also wise and compassionate.

well hopefully she does real talk though ohh to many suffer this exact same faith and it goes straight through the cracks and everyone is so mixed in their own drama they don’t devote the attention this situation deserves and the more it gets overlooked the less likely they are to find hope

  • already dude
glad you tagged this one up
