I did this painting from a photo that I think was taken by a friend of my daughter’s, somewhere in the world (how hopeless am I? I can’t even be sure of my sources……).
Pastels (Unison)
Pastel pencils (Derwent & Stabilo)
Mi-Teintes Tex paper Burgundy colour

Love it. Sometimes one can just look at a person and say, “They really enjoy life!” To me this is what you captured with your brushes. Excellent work Columbe.
Thank you Jim, it’s a lovely comment. I do like to depict the reality of human faces, as you know, all the better if they’re happy.

Merci Sis!

Colombe your portraits are getting more and more brilliant! A stunning depiction of this gent with great colours and amazing skin ‘shine’. Congratulations on your feature.
Thank you heaps Val. I didn’t realise that his face was so shiny. Ha, ha, ha…. I only looked at him for 20 hours while painting him!

Wonderful work! I knew it was yours as soon as I saw the thumbnail Colo. Congratulations on the feature!
Hi Lynda and thank you for your sweet comment (sorry for the late reply, I think you know where I’ve been….). I must get back into drawing, it will be hard after such a long pause! What have you been up to in the last few weeks?

Hello again Colombe, and yes I do know where you’ve been. What have I been doing you ask? Very very very busy at work in my ‘day’ job, and apart from that I had a visit from my 4 year old grandson for a few days – we had a LOT of fun together, but it was very tiring for poor old Nanna! I have also been working on a couple of commissions, and finished one today, so I can now start on something new!!!! I’m sure you will find it a bit difficult to get back into things after your trip to France!
Oh wow, you HAVE been busy! Time must fly for you.
I’ll catch you again on RB.
Biz (= bisous)
