A custom from last century among Vietnam’s Daknong Province K’hor people, was to stretch their ear lobes as long as possible. This effect woult take years to achieve. Today there are only a few people left with stretched ears, most of them are aged in their 90’s

Pastels sur papier Colourfix couleur aubergine. A4

excellent portrait, your colours are really good

  • Thank you so much for this! I think the colours are a bit wrong on the hands, I must fix them. (I like your art too!)

  • Frog, merci beaucoup for the favourite!

Exceptional!!!!! This is beautifully ‘pastelled’! The pose is fantastic! Those hands are amazing and you have really captured the essence of this K’hor person. Well done Colombe.

  • Hey Lynda, have you noticed that I used “your” Colourfix paper? It took a bit of getting used to but I loved it. That texture is PERFECT for pastels. Thank you so much for telling me about it!

Yes, she is fascinating and your drawing of her shows off your wonderful talent…I have other parts of my body stretched, so I can relate a little…my mind has been stretched beyond all functionality and recognition…and other parts of my body have been stretched as well, like from having babies and so forth, but never my ears…I will have to try this…Smiles from Jane:-)

  • Yes, a stretched tummy with 2 kids, but these days it’s my patience being stretched mostly…. I don’t think I fancy having ears like these though!

Yeeha!
