Ink and acrylics on very bad paper. For the background I copied the design on my dinner plates….
This is only a trial for a bigger painting.

Lovely colour effect…
En un mot, very well executed.

Biz

    Very nice work:)

  • Thank you Robyn! I was just telling my sister above, that the very bad paper quality played a nasty trick on the poor boy’s face….. he looks like he has a 5 o’clock shadow!!!

I love his joyous mood in your painting. Wonderful work!

  • Thanks Carliss, I hope the real finished painting turns out happy too (this was just an exercise to work out the colours).
By the way, your Janet is fantastic! The hair……. what patience you have.

I love the design work in the background. It really makes him stand out. You are very inventive to borrow it from something in your surroundings. I do this too, I think all artist probably do. It is called being creative and versatile. Many times I do not want to spend money on an art item, so I create what I need. It is amazing what can become an art tool. Just simple tape has done wonders for me. There is nothing wrong with utilizing what is at hand, especially if it works well. And this most certainly does. Wonderful work. Very beautiful. He has a lot of character and lovely colors. I love his enthusiasm. You have done a great job expressing it. Smiles from Jane:-)

  • Jane, thank you so much for all your lovely comments, they warm my heart. It’s true what you say about utilising the objects around you for your art. You must look up Cathy Savels’ work here on Red Bubble. She amazes me with her ability to to her art with… string! Her work is awesome. Merci encore. xoxo
