Acrylics on acrylic sketch.
I combined 3 images for this, including a copy of an old japanese screen depicting the rising sun, and another with the cranes flying around. The little man was featured in the sunday paper the other day, I found his face interesting.

Your latest work is again fabulous. It is a great picture with seamless aspects of Asia beautifully combined.

  • Thank you Val. My sister asked me (in a cheeky way) if I like Asia….. But it’s true, I do tend to do a lot of portraits of asians. I find their faces so interesting.

it’s amazing, acrylic is hard to work for me…… and you did amazing job on his face….. master painting

  • Hi Hasmig and thank you for your (very generous) comment. I used to hate acrylics because they dry so quickly, but I found this liquid called “drying retarder”. All you do is put a drop or 2 on your paint and it will take much longer to dry, this gives you so much more time to work. It’s great!

Magnifique Colo ! I think the photo is not flattering of the painting. I think the painting looks even better in real life. It’s just beautiful.
