Cassava, the plant from which tapioca is made is one of Thailand’s major crops. Here the workers load sacks of flour on barges, their faces covered with a fine powder of tapioca at the end of hard day’s work.

Fantastic pastel, glad you explained it so well, because as excellent as the work is I wouldn’t have known exactly what I was looking at. Well done.

I know what you mean Jim! As a matter of fact when I looked at the photo I initially thought that he was covered in ice…
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment.

    Thanks a lot Froggy!
    Hugs to you.

You are doing SO WELL with your pastels Colombe! You are becoming quite the ‘master’ with your lovely portraits. This is so effective. and works well on the background colour.

  • Colombe Cambo... replied

That’s such a nice thing to say Lynda, and coming from you it has another dimension that’s very important to me. You know you’re the one who inspired me so much. I love working on this paper! Thank you heaps.
On to the next project now….....

The picture looks even better “in the flesh”
I wonder how much tapioca flour this man has breathed in over the years. Here he lives forever in a wonderful painting. He would be thrilled to see it I am sure. It is so life-like.
