The shepherd

The shepherd has returned!
I painted a version of Merlin Enabmit’s original, found in a learn to paint magazine.
Acrylics with texture paste on the turban and cloak, on watercolour paper for some reason.

Yes – welcome back shepherd…he must have gone to find his sheep…I’m glad he’s back – he is brilliantly painted!

  • Colombe Cambo... replied

Thanks Annie. I don’t think he’s found his sheep, he looks as lost as ever…...

Glad to see the shepherd has returned Colombe. He has that faraway look about him. I like the way you have painted the rocks, the colours are really set off by the blues in the sky and clothing.

  • Colombe Cambo... replied

Thank you Estelle. I haven’t heard from you for a while, have you been away? Anyway I’m glad you have returned too!

I didn’t know the “Armenian shepherd” you just talked about so I looked it up on the internet. It’s great! The colours are vivid and similar to this one and the sky looks the same! Thank you for that, Hasmig

    Exsquisate Colombe. Just perfect.

  • Colombe Cambo... replied

Hi Adam and thanks for your comment. I actually painted him last year while experimenting with acrylics and I think it’s a typical example of beginner’s luck….

I haven’t seen this before-an arresting view-at such a high point. One always thinks of a shepherd as lowly.
