Galahs are probably Australia’s best known urban parrots. Also known as the Rose-breasted Cockatoo – more descriptive of their appearance but not of their personality. Their personality is very much “comedian” and has led to the term “galah” being applied to any person who has a comical bent. They are at their most entertaining when hanging upside-down on telegraph wires in the rain – screeching delightedly.
