Earthlings - Humans and Nature

Each photograph presented here visually demonstrates the ability of homo sapiens to get lost in the vastness of nature. For millennia we have tried to give ourselves meaning in the universe through religions and belief systems, trying to gain some comfort, and mentally giving ourselves ‘special’ VIP status in the realm of the cosmos.
In many ways things have not changed. Homo sapiens are still searching for meaning, still thinking that they have greater importance than other beings on earth. Today we have reached a tipping point where the earth is finally sick, and if something doesn’t change, it is going to die swinging. It is time that we recognize our place in nature and leave the human centered way of thinking in the past. Nature is powerful and it should scare us. We are alone, isolated, lonely, vulnerable, small, weak and it is beautiful.
