You are the only one who understands
Assume you are the only person in the world who understands exactly what it is you are trying to do. Stop trying to explain and to justify your actions and intentions. It is most likely, nobody will get it. They may even accuse you of not being normal (quite a compliment really!)
You are the only one who truly understands yourself. And even then, many parts of yourself remain a delightful mystery, yet to be discovered. You know the feelings you want to express. Only you can interpret those feelings onto canvas or paper or even into the kitchen.
Imagine the feeling of freedom if you were already an established authority in your creative art. Imagine the fun being yourself on canvas!
Well pretend that it’s true! Do your practice as if every stroke is authoritative and confident. Draw as if you are teaching Leonardo. Paint as if you already hang in the Louvre. Dance as if the world is depending upon you to create the next big thing.
It’s all play and that’s what creativity is all about. Get your doubts out of the way and run riot like a child in a playground. How can you possibly listen to anybody else when really, you are the only one who understands.
You know what is best fo you
