Looking up from the crossing : Lincoln cathedral

Halfway down the nave is an area known as the crossing, where the great transept cuts across at right angles.
Looking up is the lower portion of the central tower.
I love the lines; its hard to imagine this was built almost 1000 years ago!

Wondrous angle, comp and perspective, beautiful imagery and colour. They cannot build like this these days, even with the tools. The master builders of those days had virtually nothing by way of tools, but they did have talent. This is a wondrous Picture.
