Corsican Summer Evening
Evening light upon an old house, in the hill village of Lama. In the beautiful Mediterranean island of Corsica. The warm light, on an old house, was special – and I’ve tried to capture that!
I visited the island in July 2006.
Watercolour painting, using St Petersburg pan set.
Bockingford semi rough 140lb paper. 8×10 inches.

You did indeed capture that wonderful light! I like how the roughness of the paper added so much to the feel of this old structure. My eye went immediately to the stone wall & flower boxes on the left – so beautifully done, Colin. Wow!!!!!!!
Jim Phillips
A+ on the composition Colin. The colours are wonderful, nice old world feel to them. Good work my friend.
Colin Cartwright replied
Thanks Jim. I’m really pleased with this one. I can’t see much how I could have improved it. Most of my paintings, I see the mistakes staring at me!

Another exceptionally creative and inspirational painting that captures
the depth of your “vision.” The material that moves me evolves from
Colin, the visionary that lives deep within your psyche and soul.
Colin Cartwright replied
Great comment as usual, Julie. Yes it’s a beautiful place in reality, as well as in the mind’s eye.
Cal Kimola
This is lovely Colin.
Lynda Robinson
