My watercolour painting from a 1906 photo of the Mauretania. Luxury liner (the fastest in the world until 1929).

She’s being towed by steam tugs, out of the mouth of the river Tyne, and into the North Sea.

    I just had to make into a painting, it was the least I could do.

    Wonderful work my friend ! it has a feel of the old masters ,one in particular is Turner the bepth and fusion of sky & water creating that stormy vortex !

    .
    As you love seascapes, Lorus. Check out the ultimate master, Aivazovsky. For me, he leaves Turner in the shade!
