(This is not my painting) Schooner and Drifter at Whitby

This is a painting by my friend, Maria Hawthorne.
Maria has been painting occcaisionally since childhood, but has not painted for many years.

It was painted at my suggestion, from the book of old sailing ship photos, which I am currently working from.

A drifter and topsail schooner, lie in the mud in old Whitby.
The ruins of the priory are on the distant hill

Watercolour 12”x8”.
