A masterly piece Colin. Over 100 hours of work is true dedication, but worth it for the result. Well done!
Colin Cartwright replied
On considered reflection, I think it was closer to 50, but it felt like 100.
Thanks a lot, Brian.

This is a splendid piece of work, Colin. I have visited Whitby many times and recognize many of its amazing features. I love the sepia tones and the subdued blues and reds. They work so beautifully to convey the time and mood.

I love the tonality of this piece. Excellent.
Colin Cartwright replied
Thanks very much, Ken!
Yes, getting the tonal contrasts right on such a complex painting, was such hard work! This was not very popular – but I still like it

I can immediately see the complexity of this piece. So much to see and enjoy here from the tall ship way in the background to the tip of a lighthouse, it seems over on the left, to the sail in the fore. The colors, so soft and inviting. You must be so proud of this one, Colin.
