I see your style developing nicely in several ways Colin – and your paintings have that special classical look. Lovely subtle colours and atmosphere in this one.

Colin…watercolor and pen are two different mediums, which, when done together, can make people like me so aggrivated that we move on to a simplier life with acrylic. This is a stunning work. You have mastered these mediums, which is a difficult task. I for one tip my brush and pen to you as I wonder aloud, “how did he do that?” Nicely done!

Ed, I love history, old photos, sailing ships and watercolours. So these are relaxing for me to sketch and paint.
i also like the uncertainty as to whether they will turn out alright.
Thanks for the fine compliment.
Now if only I could sell something!

Thanks very much, Brian. I really appreciate that view. Your words are encouraging for me, as I continue to learn and hopefully advance in watercolour.

OK Colin, I just got round to looking myself!!! Top job again, what strikes me here is the excellent foreground detail with an Turneresque background which makes me look and look again. Keep it up mate…. you are working well. Cheers, Bill.

Bill! – you’re the first to compare me with Turner!!!!
I liked the very hard pen ink lines of the foreground, contrasting with the soft, misty, wet-in-wet background.
And thanks again for introducing me to this wonderful book.
