I began painting watercolours 3 years ago, to distract me from painful health problems.

I’m a former physiologist. But now I paint watercolors of landscapes and from Victorian photos.
I only have pinhole vision in one eye – so using that to the max!

I live in Gateshead in Tyne and Wear (formerly County Durham), Northern England..

I also spend half of my time in Wooler – the last town in England, close to the Scottish Border, and the magnificent coast of Northumberland with more castles than anywhere else in England.

The challenge of painting is a wonderful therapy for both artist and viewer, raising the spirit above the physical. It must do – or I’d have gone nuts by now.

There is nothing quite as satisfying as creating a work of art, with a simple brush, a sheet of paper, and some paint!!!
