Close – it’s a drafting pencil you’re seeing there, Mike. I use it for the layout (the blue doesn’t photocopy, so I can run off multiples later without seeing my sketching);you can see where I was playing around with a zombie hand.
It’s an old design industry trick – pretty much redundant in the face of the digital age, but I still like paper and pencils! Even a scanner doesn’t pick it up 100%, and photocopiers miss it completely. An ultramarine or prussian blue pencil will do, which you can even get as lead for a Pacer these days. Give it a try!
