Liquid Ubersilk
Whilst taking these someone I showed one of them to called it Liquid Ubersilk, which I quite liked…
First time ever taking a tripod with me and really trying out new stuff with the shutter speed and water.
Taken in the Fforest Fawr region of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales

Loving that title too – flowing…
Speed not coupled with a sense of crashing or violence here – nice

thankyous emma… or should it be Sky? sounds more like a character from a final fantasy…

The flowing water does give the impression of silk. Love the stones and way you composed this. Could I ask what shutter speed you decided you liked best? (For this one, I assume.) Just curious. I’ll guess 1/10.
Jonathan Dower replied
thanks for the great comment!
this one was actually 1 second – I found that the other 2 fairly good ones, at 1/6 and 1/4, didn’t quite give the same silky effect (they were nearly there but I wanted the slightly more surreal look…). This one came out best I think :) My other waterfall long exposure one here was also 1 second – again I chose that because it was the one that worked just right.

well done! its nicely taken.
good choice of exp… any more, it would have been milky, which really would have taken away from this… the texture works well, underneath the strain of water.
again, well done. :)

thanks a lot LP, much appreciated!
