I saw this in the small town of Mount Somers at Easter Weekend and thought of Sally Omar here on Redbubble and her grandfather from whom she has inherited her wonderful gift of poetry. Make sure you check out her work it is amazing. Sally wrote a most beautiful poem for one of my photos and also a most beautiful one for people i know who lost their baby son. This is the least I could do to say thank you so much to her.
It is said Sally’s grandfather was a gypsy so this is for you Sally as it has that free spirited gypsy feel to the scene. As if they’ve made this their lovely home for now but maybe not long before it’s time to go a wandering again….. Maybe your grandfather did the same.
Much love to you Sally xx
Check out Sally Omar and the lovely poem she wrote for this photo about her Grandpa….“The Gypsy”… We think he helped her write it as it flowed from her so fast.

Jenny, This is oh so sweet of you…I just love it and I am sure this is exactly what my grandfather
did..apparently he traveled before coming here … met my grandmother in Italy…got married
had three sons and then came to the States and my mom and aunt were born..he was a
dreamer who sat by the coal stove and drank red wine..wrote songs, poetry, played the
mandolin and sang.I thank him everyday for the wonderful gift he left me..my love and gift
of poetry..and my love of music..to you, I say Thank You from Grandpa and his Granddaughter
Sally …both Gypsy Free-Spirits…
Dear Sally I know I have replied to you via BM but I’m replying to all the lovely comments here, finally, so thought I’d drop you another reply! Thanks so much, I love the story of your Grandpa so much, it’s a wonderful tale and with the photo and your lovely poem, he is real to us as well now.

Not sure if the truck became a home or the home became a truck Jenny but its certainly different.
Cant be many houses look like this one. Reminds me of a line from a Monkey’s song.
Rows of houses & they’re all the same…….
Not in this street. Very interesting & love the old car too!!
Thanks very much Robin, yes whichever way round it went it’s certainly quaint, I love the way everything is laid out so neatly and the car is a treat I agree!
