Located in the town centre on Boulevard Victor Hugo, Nimes, France. It is one of the best preserved Roman Amphitheatres, especially the upper part. Built around 70AD, it is 2 stories high with 60 arches in each floor and has 124 exits. Nowadays it is used for bullfights and other public events.
I love how it blends so beautifully with the town around it.

I agree, when an ancient building sit so comfortably with the modern it lifts the spirit, enhances life, all at odds with the carnage that goes on inside.
