Cody “Leviticus” Norris is a Graphic, music and spoken word artist from New Haven CT. He began art at a very young age after his father gave him a a book “How to draw super heroes the MARVEL WAY”. Soon his sketches turned into entering local art contest and submitting work to school papers.By the age of 21 penciled super heroes became graphic art and then later became a push for a graphic art program at the Penobscot Job Corps in Bangor Me in which he was attending. Not having a graphic art program prior to Leviticus being there, the school soon seen a need to develop and introduce a program based on the interest Leviticus and several other students had created around the school. Developing many brochures, certificates and logos for the school, began his freelance career in the field.After returning home to New Haven he continued freelance graphic arts. Doing projects for non profits, flyers for local artist and dj’s he soon got a reputation for his art being different, colorful and powerful. Now at 30 Leviticus is attempting to redefine his art again, pushing boundaries developing art with a message.Not only using graphic arts to deliver a positive message, Leviticus also has developed skills as a spoken word artist, MC, and a music producer. Over the years performing at various open mic’s, outdoor festivals, being a prolific lyricist gives him the ability to speak to people of all ages effectively communicating words to help and encourage people to fight through there struggle and God and themselves for the greatest answers and direction in life. Making his own hip hop instrumentals, Leviticus has taken his mission of helping people to another level working with nationally known artist Iyaba Ibo Mandingo and Tantra Zawadi. He is again pushing limits in music and art through collaboration.
