When I was growing up we had a picture in our living room of a sleepy river meandering through an overgrown forest. In the foreground, crossing the river was a narrow wooden bridge and in the background the river disappeared from view around a bend. It fascinated me to look at the picture and wonder what you would see if you could cross the bridge and look round the corner.
I like my photos to evoke the same response of curiosity and wonder. Where is this place? Who is that person? What’s their story? What have they seen? ‘What’s around the corner’ is for me a doorway to a new and unseen world.
