Not painted for a while, so just had a mad moment and let rip… Based on a view of the isle of Sark, one of the Channel Islands. 60cm x 60cm Acrylic on canvas
Thank you so much for the encouragement – I’m honoured!

A spontaneous art work, from the subconscious? Impressive colours and shapes. Almost an abstract. But you can see the form of the sea and sky. With the sandy land in the middle. An intersting one, to add to my faves..
Spontaneous? Certainly. Sub-conscious? Well, I think so, as much as it can be – I certainly didn’t really have a ‘plan’ in mind and just allowed the painting to develop over about 45 minutes of vigorous mark-making!! I like to think that I have a semi-abstract approach to landscape – I will often take a naturally-occuring pattern or shape and base my work on this, adapting other elements to suit. Thank you for your comments and abservations – really appreciated.
I love this Martin…..I love the bold strokes….the strong colours and the light…..beautiful……I knew this was your painting as soon as I saw it…..love this unique style of yours… :)
Thank you so much, Pam – your support and encouragement are always welcome!
