'Point Robert Lighthouse, Isle of Sark'
Perched 65 metres up on the cliffs overlooking Maseline Bay is Point Robert Lighthouse, built by Trinity House in 1913. Automated in 1994, the lighthouse is a welcome sight for boats heading for the tiny harbours of Maseline or Le Creux.

Deborah Glasgow
Love the cool tones in this one, Martin. Great job
cobbybrook replied
Thank you Deborah! It hasn’t photographed very well unfortunately – the lighthouse is much bolder in the original painting! It’s struggled a bit to reproduce the foreground colours as well…
Linda Ridpath
you have been busy with the knife again i see. Lovely work martin x
cobbybrook replied
Thank you Linda! I keep going back to the knife – I think it is more ‘honest’ somehow. I used a brush for the majority of the water and the foreground so this painting is a compromise!
PamAmos
this is lovely…..love the sky and the reflections in the water…...beautiful…......
Pam :)

Hello Pam – thanks again for your encouragement! Glad you like this one.

The colors and beautiful texture takes my breath away! Pure magic!!! xx
cobbybrook replied
Thanks again maxy! Much appreciated! Texture in the sky, rocks and lighthouse is through the use of a painting knife, whilst the foreground is painted with a large brush. I try to keep my ‘fiddling with detail’ down to a minimum! Thanks again.
