Boatshed 14

Boatshed 14

Lake Wendouree in Ballarat, home of the 1956 Olympic rowing and canoeing. Now the boatsheds stand bereft, where once they teemed with the action of rowing teams, kayaks, yachts and fishing tinnies. Over a decade of drought, and now, midwinter, we wait.

A decade of drought. No controlling Earth. The lighting makes for staggering image. Applause.

Love the dark mood and the powerful sense of desolation and imminent doom of this image – beautiful writing, too!

Thanks for commenting on my image “Mirror” – much appreciated!

Great shot, captures the desolation of drought really well. I love the way you have managed to make this look like a rural scene when its in the middle of a city. Great mood.
