Little Man

Little man listens to big man talk
Watches him with small eyes and thinks big thoughts
Doesn’t hear the whispers and the yells are for naught
He wants to trust big man and ignore the fraught

Little women’s weeping and big women too
Little man is listening and needs something to do
Wants to keep the peace and see the family through
Wants to clean up everything and make it nice for you

Little man fights big man and he’s wrestled to the ground
The fingers round his neck insure he cannot make a sound
Black spots dance as fingers push down
Thoughts are very far away, blood is rushing loud

The lack creates the need
Sandcastles near the sea
