The Tree

Screams of pain shatter the morning peace.
A life is given wrongful release.
In Nature’s harmony for years existed;
Of which progress, a tree resisted.

“A life a tree?” some will say.
If not a life, then what of me?
Do we not both live & breathe?
And of a path, we both perceive!

But the path of Man is misery:
While that of the tree is harmony.
Man destroys for his own survival:
The tree replenishes for the World’s revival.

And so I mourn this wooden soldier.
Yet his death has made me bolder.
Live & let live in Harmony.
If a Tree can do it, why can’t we.
