To be homeless
is to have no home
The place that I live
is not my own
home is where the heart is
but mine is too remote
to be housed in a wood framed building
I know
I’m not welcome here
I know I don’t belong here
these people are not my pairs
I’ve been asked to go
and it’s hardly surprising
I shouldn’t have convinced myself
that I belong
I was wrong
The pressure that goes with displacement
is great
the space that weighs heavy in my pocket
is my economic fate
I guess
prove to me I’m wrong
‘One Week from today’
they said
that’ll be long enough
won’t it.
a week is one week too long
this has gone and gotten
a tad uncomfortable
‘I’m sorry, Mike
It’s not you -
It’s Me…’
I know that song
there’s nothing wrong
I heard this before
and I won’t get sore
and dejected
it’s all good
I’ll just pack my shit and go
go for gold
with me and my dog
we’ll hit the road

Pathos prose that is the way it goes….alone….homelessness is not hopelessness but it is hell to go and go it alone….and that is the way we shall leave one by one all alone.
Chur (I looked it) you got me on this one Bro! A boy and his dog….hit the road.

I’m housed in a wood framed building. Most days I just get claustrophobic lately. And when I go out (except to Tafe) I get agorophobic!!!..me and my dog on the road sounds great.Mobile home and a great big portable open air studio.Hell yeah.

I can totally relate. Very favorite part was the end.
‘I’ll just pack my shit and go
    go for gold
    with me and my dog
    we’ll hit the road’
I’m so homeless that I don’t even have a real dog, just an imaginary one. Good writing my friend. Smiles from Jane.

interesting twist to this – they asked me to stay and help save them from their parents who are coming for a couple of weeks…
    Living on a soap-box has it’s perks, I guess.
You guys all rock… but you knew that, eh?
