Water is a cool cocoon – I go in dry, crawling on my belly; come out tingling, wet and winged.
To glide beneath the waves reminds me of why I draw breath.

To live
For this
Feeling

I slide over the surface, rising and falling with gentle surging swell, until I’m too tired to return.

Reckless abandon in an alien environment.

I’ll just let the tide bring me back,
if it wants to…

I swim.

The first summer swim is one of my favourite things. In still water,I float, and let the current spin me and take me with it.In the surf,I go full charge into the waves let them toss me around and swallow me.A great swim is not just about gettng wet.

Wow, you really made me feel the experience. Especially about how it transformed you in the beginning, and about how you gave yourself over to it in the end. Good writing.
