Typical South African Veld

Clive S

Sandton, South Africa

Artist's Description

The term "veld’ is an Afrikaans word (pro. felt) that means field, or bush.

If ever I was to leave this beautiful country of ours to live elsewhere, this is what I would remember of a typical South African scene.

We were sitting watching a sunset over Sterkfontein Dam in the Drakensberg, when I looked behind us and saw this.

For a South African, this is a pretty ordinary and usual scene, but for some reason, this photograph warms my heart. I don’t think that It’s a particularly great shot, to be honest, but I just like it :)
