Artist's Description

This is Khusrubagh, in Allahabad.

Originally, it was a pleasure resort constructed by Jahangir (4th Moghul Emperor from 1605 to 1627). Jahangir was Shah Jahan’s father.

Jahan (Shahab-ud-din Muhammad Khurram) had Khusro (his brother) murdered, to ensure he had no threat to the throne.

Sultan Khusro is entombed here (in the middle tomb), along with Bibi Tamolan, Sultan Khusro’s mother, as well as his sister, Nithar Begam.

It was built between 1605 and 1627.
