The mountain in the background is Maulin which, at 621m is one of the highest mountains of the Slieve Miskish mountain range on Beara. The road up the valley – a wonderful walk – follows the track of the Glanmore River which has its source in a lake on Knocknagree (586m), the slightly smaller mountain you can see in front, and slightly to the left, of Maulin.
