This image (taken with concent of both teachers and parents) was taken at the St John the Evangelist Church War Graves Cemetery in Sutton Veny, Wiltshire UK, on this ANZAC Day (25 April) following a very moving church service the children from the local school all lay floral posies on each and every grave. This has been happening every year from around 1940.
There are 141 Australian soldiers and 3 Australian nurses buried here from the Great War 1914 – 1919.
The people of Sutton Viny, as people from many various parts of the UK, are very proud to remember the Aussie diggers and nurses who came to their final resting place in a land so far from home.
