Artist's Description

Interior of the Linen Store at the now abandoned Quarantine Station on Torrens Island. The Station was established on Torrens Island north of Port Adelaide in1855. It was also used as an internment camp for German citizens and sailors during WW1 and was closed in 1979 after the worldwide eradication of smallpox. The linen store is lined with beautiful camphor-smelling slatted wooden shelves, the walls are made of galvanised iron and the room is in fact a room within a room.
