Image taken at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at Fairford, England in July 2010.

As part of a special tribute to the heroes on both sides of the Battle of Britain there were lots of WW2 war birds flying.

This Spitfire “Spirit of Kent” was looking particularly brilliant.

Hope you like the image, please leave critique positive or negative, i wish to improve.

Thanks very much for the acceptance, I will post another war bird today.

It is superb when you see these invaluable aircraft, the Merlin engine is just the best sound ever made.

    Great capture, Cliff,
Only one crit, blur the prop.
ie, select slower shutter speed if you can, or use PhotoShop.
    Into faves,
    Cheers neil

  • Neil, I must agree, just sjoghtly too fast on the shutter speed

And this – the other of my heart felt beauties. One of my uncles flew a Spitfire and of course told the stories… perhaps that’s where my love for them came from but there is no denying their beautiful lines and awesome power.
Another great image Cliff. Well done! A fav for me :-)
