Lines in the Sand by

I walk where Egypt rests her mighty kings,
that stand the greatest triumph Egypt won,
these pyramids that stretch their noble wings
and sing of heaven’s vision to the sun.
These kings believed that they would live again
and certain that the world is just a door
they built these houses so they could remain
above the highest dreams of mortal law.
These tombs that live a monument to prayer
and vault the wealth of ancient history,
brave Egypt, I can only stand and stare,
in honour to your strength and artistry.
How far beyond the stars you held divine
do you now rest proud Egypt’s precious line?
