Back in the 50s the pulp sci-fi mags would frequently buy a piece of art for their covers. THEN… they’d bring in a Ray Bradbury or Issac Assimov and have them write the story. It was a tail/dog thing but it wound up producing some of the greatest classic sci-fi short stories in all of fictiondom.

Now… suppose I was running Amazing Science Stories and you walked in the door with this… Wunder what the title of that story would have been? And that’s exactly what a piece of evocative art oughta do, right? I’ll go to sleep tonight thinking I’m ten or eleven years old and dreaming that story to myself. Thanks for some great dreams….
