Telling tales to the young by

Broken now are my bones,
so listen closely as I whisper my tale,
for the birds that rest on your bough,
are the only messengers left to tell my tale.

The wonderful ruins of Sheriff Hutton’s newer castle on a late summer’s day. This lovely ruin with part of it’s double moat still hanging in, still looks towards York and it’s Minster. North Yorkshire, England.

Converted into black and white and best viewed large.

Shot on an Olympus E30.

Let’s hope there is enough nests to cement these old stones, I am not sure I would dare walking underneath…

  • LOL they had a big chunk of cash given to them to make good the stone work recently lol, because the nests and seedling trees breaking open the stones
