Giles first solo flight was not going as he hoped by

Ballet dancer born to kill,
the art of death framed in beauty,
darting flashes across sight,
soon to rest as summer’s pass.

This lovely dragonfly came and just sat on the barbed wire and let me almost walk right up to him while shooting, a right poser. Shot between the moats at Sheriff Hutton castle in North Yorkshire, England.

converted into black and white.

Shot on an Olympus E30.

Or, What’s This Then? I expect he escaped unscathed, & how civil of him to allow you to catch him in this fashion. Wonderful, Richard!

  • We are like that in the countryside, friendly, well as along as we are not trying to eat you anyway. Most disappointed the wire did not go ping when he took off though ;) Thanks Sheila
