Monoliths to the age of the blade by

Ringing now to the song of the crow,
empty echoes of blade on blade,
to the cry of hunters return,
now a proud stand against time.

Part of Sheriff Hutton Castle in the late afternoon sun in North Yorkshire. This gives some idea of how imposing this place must have been to the locals and visitors alike.

Converted into black and white and best viewed large.

I’m tripping back in time even as we speak. Such darkness in these hallowed halls, despite the sun’s most radiant calls. I can hear it hollering now. Fine image.

  • :) time travel at no extra charge..lol thank you Sheila

Such a cold looking image. Looks impenetrable somehow..
    (the atmosphere)

  • Thank you Birgitta, sometimes I think they built these places because of the atmosphere of the site
