Chasing the fairy lights of woodland dreams by

Nodding in spring waves of air,
a white rush for the light in dappled ground,
a hunter of early prey,
soon to sleep in green under green crowns.

Now if I have got the right page in Collins Complete British Wildlife, special edition with pages on certain RBer’s habits and where best to spot them outside a pub, sorry their nest or den 0:), this is a spread of ramson flowers under the trees just outside Addingham in North Yorkshire, though if wrong, I am sure Linda will correct me ;).
After attending her class, I am now told they are wood anemones

Converted into black and white and best viewed large.

  • Thank you Lilith, one day I will get a life and not have the time for the camera lol.. the wind just caught the flowers as I took the image

I see Linda gotcha as predicted. Ransom is fuzzier…. & it’s edible, like garlic everywhere. Be that as it may… (& it IS almost May)… this is a beautiful shot; lights up the dark.

  • Well I was distracted by the Rber’s section is my only defence :) Thank you Sheila
