Another sunset to mark history passing by

Broken by greed of power and fear of souls,
A marriage to break a marriage to Rome,
left as a marker to the glory of the mason’s art,
now a sundial to the passing of time.

Taken on a great day out in York in North Yorkshire, with fellow RB photographers, Steve and Lesley and Jason and Donna
, this is part of the ruins that were once St.Mary’s Abbey, now a great backdrop to the River Ouse and the Museum Gardens and a prop for us photographers looking for some drama.

Hurrah for the battle winner ! Er, for your next training session, maybe you could try to have the clouds passing under the arch ? That would be a must ! ;-)

  • Working on it, seems the get a bit worried in confined spaces ;) lol thank you Helene

like how you have still captured the texture on the arch/building. nice work mate.

  • played with the levels a touch on this, as the light was wonderful, but frustrating to capture and keep the details all in one shot. Thanks Tempe
