Born in the cloud tops of blasted earth,
A wish for a life to be protected,
a beacon of man’s hope,
slowly returning into it’s ash bones,
now wild birds sing from broken rafters,
sheep huddle into it’s shelter,
now dressed in her lost wedding dress,
the fell reclaiming it’s own.
This old cottage is on the Hawes to Ingleton road in the North Yorkshire on Gayle Fell, not far off the Pennine Way. It is slowly falling into the head waters of the River Ribble as it journeys down towards Horton in Ribblesdale, Helwith Bridge and Settle.
As you can see, the low clouds and snow made this an interesting journey.
